This Antique Microscope comes with it's original box and one clear slide. This is a compound barrel microscope made of brass with a cracked reflecting mirror. This kind of microscope was widely used by students in the early part of the 20th Century.
The brass on this microscope is clean for an antique. In general it's in pretty good shape. It features a and slipping rack & pinion style mount.
The original wooden box has the original brass clasps and closes. The box doesn't have any cracks. The box has the name of one of the young original owners written in pencil on the bottom.
This microscope may have been made in France around 1900, then sold by an English retailer.
This is a perfect gift for the Scientist, Biologist or Doctor in your life.
