The newest fine Fountain Pen ink from French manufacturer, J. Herbin, Améthyste de L'Oural, (Ural Mountain Amethyst), a solid dark purple ink in the velvety hue of amethyst with the satin finish of a silver mist for a lustrous shimmering effect and a noble allure.
This ink suggest the fires of the precious gemstone from the gates of Asia prized by jewellers of long ago. The Maison Herbin's exclusive collection of 1798 Inks celebrates the year Jacques Herbin first introduced his line of inks.
Deep unsaturated colors with optimal pressure sensitivity, 1798 inks are illuminated with shimmering flecks of silver for an elegant finish. Despite the silver flecks, this ink works smoothly in fountain pens and the silver flecks scattered throughout the ink add an extra sparkle to your writing. This ink comes in a beautiful presentation 50ml glass bottle. The bottle is made of heavy glass and will not spill. The top has sealing wax and the J.Herbin wax seal is stamped on the front, holding a decorative silver cord.
For best results shake the bottle well before filling your fountain pen or using with a dip pen. The Jacques Herbin 1798 Fountain Pen inks are not waterproof.
The manufacturer created a YouTube Video of this ink in action, which you can view here: https://youtu.be/G603L2_cK7U
J. Herbin inks are made in France; the company is the oldest manufacturer of pen ink in the world. The company uses all natural dyes in their fountain pen inks. This natural composition is reflected in the neutral pH of the inks. This means that if combined with acid-free paper, the writing or drawings with this ink will last a long time and are of archival quality.
J. Herbin inks are known as some of the highest quality inks in the world. These inks work well with both fountain pens and dip pens and are used by calligraphists and fountain pen enthusiasts.
