This box of 20 individual peel and stick luggage labels are chosen from a handful of hotels which have been long recognized for glorious surroundings and remarkable service. Some of them are The Nara in Japan, Hotel de la Mamounia in Marrakech, Hoel Grande Bretagne in Athens, The Ritz in Barcelona, The Pera Palace in Istanbul and The Taj Mahal in Bombay.

What splendor these labels evoke! Suitable for scrapbooking, decoupage, gift wrapping and, of course the adornment of old trunks and luggage. They come in a box which looks like a vintage suitcase.

The golden era of hotel luggage labels ranged from about 1875 to the 1950s. Hotels designed and printed them to promote their establishments. Travelers gathered and pasted them as honor badges of their wide-ranging experience. Steam ships, railroads and airlines pasted them to passenger's luggage. As labels grew in favor, hotels tried to outdo each other with ever-larger labels and elaborate designs. Labels started to disappear as soft sided luggage came into favor and chains replaced individually owned and managed venues.

Hotel luggage labels make for interesting history. For example, consider the composite image of various Bristol Hotel labels. As Victorian-era travelers grew more discerning, individual venues needed to convey a quality image to promote themselves. The many worldwide Bristol hotels of the golden age of travel were unaffiliated as the different independent establishment assumed the name Bristol to attract new customers.

We currently stick them on our Ukulele and Guitar cases. We have friends who stick them on their luggage to make it easier to ID their bags at airports.

Returns or Exchanges

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on opened art materials and on delicate antiques. Please see individual product descriptions for information on which items we accept returns. If there is something wrong with your order, please let us know right away! We will happily accept an exchange or refund.

Custom and personalized orders

At this time we cannot create custom or personalized orders. Most of our calligraphy sets come "as is." If customization is possible it will be noted in the listing and you will be able to choose variables via a drop-down menu. Please feel free to contact us if you have questions!

Shipping Times

We ship orders out within 1 to 2 business days after receipt of order. (Usually the next business day.) This is not delivery time! This is how long it takes us to pack the item and ship. Smaller items ship via USPS Priority mail which is 1 to 3 days delivery to the U.S. We ship larger, bulky or heavy items via FedEx Ground / Home Delivery, which is ground delivery throughout the U.S. If you need an item faster, please choose Expedited Shipping.

We ship from Northern California. For example, if you order an item over the weekend, it will ship out via USPS Priority Mail on the following Monday. If you live on the East Coast that is three days for delivery. The earliest you would receive your item is on Thursday, possibly Friday.
