J. Herbin 1670 Dip & Fountain Pen Ink Bottle - Emeraude de Chivor 50ml

J. Herbin 1670 Dip & Fountain Pen Ink Bottle - Emeraude de Chivor 50ml

This Anniversary Ink from French ink manufacturer, J. Herbin is called "Emeraude de Chivor." Emeraude de Chivor is an elegant emerald green ink with flecks of gold. This ink is made for fountain pens and works equally as well with dip pens.

Despite the gold flecks, this ink works smoothly in fountain pens and the gold flecks scattered throughout the ink add an extra sparkle to your writing. This ink is not waterproof and the bottle must be thoroughly shaken before use. This ink comes in a beautiful presentation 50ml glass bottle. The bottle is made of heavy glass and will not spill. The top has sealing wax and the J.Herbin wax seal is stamped on the front, holding a decorative gold cord.

The manufacturer created a YouTube Video of this ink in action, which you can view here: https://youtu.be/cxnRasiQFbM

This ink ships via USPS Priority Mail which takes 1 to 3 days in the U.S. We will ship out the following business day from receipt of order.

J. Herbin inks are made in France; the company is the oldest manufacturer of pen ink in the world. The company uses all natural dyes in their fountain pen inks. This natural composition is reflected in the neutral pH of the inks. This means that if combined with acid-free paper, the writing or drawings with this ink will last a long time and are of archival quality.

J. Herbin is said to have kept an emerald in his pocket during his voyages as a good luck charm.

The 1670 Collection celebrates the rich life and adventures of J. Herbin, an enterprising French sailor of the mid-17th century. He made a number of voyages to India, collecting ingredients and formulas for his sealing wax and inks. He began making pen inks in his Paris workshop beginning in 1700 with the "Ink of Ships" and the "Jewel of Inks." Today, Herbin inks are widely used and internationally renowned.

I'm totally in love with this ink!!! Thank you for fast postage and the piles of wrapping - my inks arrived snug as a bug, so absolutely NO chance of a breakage!! Very happy!

It looks almost black on paper, and it bleeds, I'm going to try different papers. It is incredibly smooth though. I don't see any gold at all on paper, though I did see it settled in the bottle. And it dyes anything it touches. Walnut ink is just hard to top. But the bottle and packaging are exquisite. I would not recommend trying to put this ink into a well.

exactly as described, fast shipping, very happy!
