This Graflex Auto Camera is an extremely rare antique film camera. This camera has a low serial number of 9954G or C, and was manufactured circa 1909. This rare camera features a Cooke Lens Series III f 6.5 with the Premium Film Pack Adapter.
This camera is covered in brown leather. The leather is weathered, scratched in some places, but completely intact and has a very nice aged patina. Early Graflex cameras had a hood that would retract, shielding the viewfinder from light. This camera's hood is lightfast with no rips, and it retracts completely.
It produced a 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 Ink print. The film was loaded on a glass plate and the glass plate is intact on this camera. This Graflex Auto camera features a Cooke Lens Series III f 6.5 with the Premium Film Pack Adapter. Back in the 1909, this camera cost $184 USD, that's roughly $4,473 in today's dollars!
It has a top handle and is the most Steampunk looking camera lens we've ever come across. When you open the door at the front of the camera (by pushing a dimple on the bottom), there are two gears to adjust the focal length.
This particular Graflex was manufactured by the Folmer and Schwing Manufacturing Company in Rochester, New York. This Auto Graflex was made the year the company moved to Rochester, New York, and before the company was sold to Kodak.
