This antique Kodak No. 3A Model B-4 Camera is a rare example of an early red bellows camera. It was manufactured between June 1908 - Apr. 1909. It has deep red leather bellows, polished wooden mahogany inserts on the baseboard, blackened nickel faceplate and a prism shaped viewfinder with spirit level.
This camera produced 3 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch images on No. 122 Kodak film. It was advertised as a compact film camera that could be carried in a top coat pocket.
This particular vintage Kodak camera is in excellent condition. The bellows are completely light-fast with no tears or fading. The leather of the camera body is only slightly worn from use and also has no tears. It has a great antique patina. There appears to be a medallion missing from the back of the camera, there is some oxidation on the nickel parts of this camera, but otherwise it is in excellent shape for its age!
The shutter works and the lens is in very good condition. It is extremely clean and isn't smelly. (We clean our antiques very thoroughly here at Arcane Objects.) We've never come across another Model 3-A B4 before. (Pardon the pun!) This is a rare collectible Kodak film camera in excellent condition.
